The Developing Brain Institute at Children’s National Hospital is pleased to continue its monthly series of Perinatal Mental Health Training sessions.  The December training features Huynh-Nhu (Mimi) Le, PhD, a professor of clinical and community psychology at the George Washington University.  Dr. Le will discuss “Prevention of perinatal depression: Current evidence” during a one-hour session that begins at 12:15 p.m. ET on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

The goal of Dr. Le’s research program is to develop and evaluate interventions that will prevent perinatal depression among low-income Spanish- and English-speaking pregnant women and new mothers. Her current work focuses on cultural adaptation and evaluation of perinatal depression preventive interventions for low-income ethnic minority populations and the feasibility of integrating mental health screening and interventions in a variety of primary care settings.

CME credit available to participants.  Go here to learn more about future sessions in the DC-wide Community Network for Mother-Baby Wellness Perinatal Mental Health Training Series. (Scroll down the page and click on the Perinatal Mental Health Training button. )
